If you’re searching for the perfect location for your Brooklyn engagement photos, you’re in the right place!

As a NYC wedding and engagement photographer, I’ve explored all over Brooklyn to find the most beautiful spots that capture the essence of both this iconic area and my couple’s love stories.

Ready to find out what they are and get the most beautiful Brooklyn engagement photography? Let’s dive in!

The 6 best locations for Brooklyn engagement photos

Brooklyn Bridge

This scenic landmark offers not only stunning architecture but also a connection between Manhattan and Brooklyn, giving you dreamy views of both boroughs.

The gothic-style arches and sweeping cable stays create a breathtaking backdrop, perfect for experimenting with different poses like walking hand-in-hand or cozying up on the bridge.

And as you can see, that’s exactly what we did with this amazing couple from the picture above.

It’s no surprise that Brooklyn Bridge has been named one of the most romantic spots in the US. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth considering for your engagement shoot!

The waterfront of Brooklyn Bridge Park

The waterfront of Brooklyn Bridge Park is another amazing spot for your engagement photos.

From here, you get breathtaking views of the East River, the Manhattan skyline, and a perfect angle to capture the entire Brooklyn Bridge from the ground up.

In the photo above, you’ll see Nicole and Alex, a fun and intimate couple. For this photoshoot, we spent the morning exploring the Brooklyn Bridge and nearby locations like this one, capturing adventurous, city vibes.

The park has so many amazing spots, from piers and greenery to waterfront views of the city.

We chose to shoot at Pebble Beach—nestled between the two bridges, it offers the perfect blend of urban architecture and natural beauty. It gave us everything we needed for a stunning backdrop.

One of my favorite moments? Nicole and Alex brought champagne to celebrate their engagement, and of course, I captured them popping it open too!

    Washington Street

Washington Street in DUMBO is one of the most popular photography spots in Brooklyn, thanks to its iconic view of the Manhattan Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge’s sister.

Here, you’ll find beautiful cobblestone streets, historic red-brick buildings, and, of course, the Manhattan Bridge.

Through the bridge’s supports, you can even spot the Empire State Building in the background, making this location instantly recognizable.

With Paula and Fred, we decided to keep things casual, capturing a simple, everyday-life scene of them crossing Washington Street together. It gave them fun, laid-back photos, perfectly reflecting that easy, relaxed New York vibe as a couple.

      Jane’s Carousel

Jane’s Carousel, a charming old-school carousel from 1922 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, is a stunning spot for engagement photos. With 48 hand-carved wooden horses, this more than 100-year-old carousel brings a nostalgic, playful vibe to your shoot.

To make it extra special, you’ll need to book a time slot on a day when the carousel is closed to the public—usually, there’s at least one day available each week.

One of my favorite moments from this spot was when the couple popped open a bottle of champagne right in front of the carousel. The celebratory mood, mixed with the whimsical backdrop, made for such a memorable and joyful photo!

The original Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory

I got this idea from a couple I worked with back in 2021—Paula and Fred. These two were super adventurous and fun, so we started by hopping around all the traditional Brooklyn spots and doing a few street shots.

But at the end of the session, they felt like stopping for ice cream! So, we headed to the original Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory and snapped a few photos there too.

Even though this was more of a spontaneous idea, the photos turned out absolutely gorgeous, and I had to add it to the list of favorite spots. In my opinion, photoshoots should always be about doing things that feel natural and authentic to you.

If you’re like Paula and Fred, a stop at the original Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory could be the perfect cute and fun addition to match your vibe!

In a restaurant with a backdrop of an iconic building

This totally depends on what kind of food you and your partner love and which building you’d like in the background. But one of the most popular choices is to take a little break from walking around the city and grab a delicious pizza.

With Paula and Fred, we also headed to Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, and while they waited for their food, I snapped a few pics of them with the Eagle Warehouse as the backdrop.

I love incorporating this iconic landmark into photos—its pre-war architecture gives such a timeless, movie-like vibe.

So, if you’re a fan of pizza, this spot is perfect for capturing a casual, authentic moment with an iconic Brooklyn building as your backdrop!

But the list doesn’t have to stop there –  if you want we can even travel to other boroughs in the area outside of Brooklyn or neighborhoods such as Williamsburg or Cobble Hill. The possibilities are truly endless!

Also, if you love your apartment we can take photos there too!

Here is an example of some apartment photos from an engagement session for a couple that I did so you can get a better idea of what this could look like.

Pro tip: These spots work great for wedding photography too

One more thing I’d like to mention is that all of these locations work beautifully for both engagement and street-style wedding photography.

If you’re thinking of getting some fun, candid street wedding photos, these spots are perfect. And as a bonus, I really enjoy shooting at Brooklyn Heights Promenade too.

With Sarah and Luciano, we took their wedding shoot to the streets of Brooklyn and captured some fun moments of them dancing around in their wedding outfits along the promenade.

It’s also considered one of the most romantic places in New York City, and for good reason!

This pedestrian walkway from the 1950s stretches over a quarter-mile and offers breathtaking views of Manhattan, the Brooklyn waterfront, and Staten and Governors Islands—making it a dreamy spot for wedding photos.
