If you’re looking for ways to make your Boston City Hall elopement more fun and memorable, you’re in the right place.

As a wedding and elopement photographer who’s captured countless love stories, I had to share this one because it was so unique and a little funky.

Tara and Clint were all about keeping things simple but still adding a bit of quirkiness. They describe themselves —fun and kinda ridiculous— and so, of course, their elopement photos had to be that way too.

If you’re curious to see how these two put their own spin on their Boston City Hall wedding and made it uniquely theirs, then keep reading!

Here’s how this couple made their Boston City Hall elopement special

When you think of a Boston City Hall elopement, you might not picture it as the most fun, exciting, or beautifully weird spot to get married. But Tara and Clint show all of us that it’s all about what you make of it—and they made it exactly that.

Everything was simple and stress-free

Tara and Clint wanted to keep things laid back and true to who they are. They decided their wedding would be all about them, having a beautiful, fun time with their closest people around.

So, on June 13th, they had a spontaneous, last-minute ceremony at Boston City Hall. The simplicity of the moment was incredible, and you can see from the photos just how genuinely happy they were.

As their elopement photographer, I loved capturing the unexpected vibe of the place. We got some fun “Married in Boston” shots and even a few in the elevator.

The elevator made such a cool frame around them—perfect for remembering that moment when they stepped out as a newly married couple.

Tara rocked a unique black wedding dress

Now, let’s talk about their absolutely stunning, totally non-traditional wedding outfits. Tara wore a black dress paired with a black choker necklace that made them look incredibly cool.

Clint went for a suit with a funky, vintage vibe, and they both added a pop of color with red roses. They both wore outfits that truly reflected their authentic personalities while still blending together beautifully.

Their friends joined for the good vibes right after

As soon as the ceremony was over, the celebration was on! Their closest friends and family were there to welcome them and cheer on the newlyweds.

The vibe was so relaxed and laid-back. I loved how cool their family was, too—just hanging out on the steps in the middle of the street, joining them for champagne under the beautiful trees, and everyone having such a genuinely good time together.

We captured some playful shots with everyone before heading off to their favorite, super unique spot. But first…

Tara changed into comfier shoes

One of the sweetest moments was when Clint helped Tara switch shoes to stay comfy during their stroll through the Boston streets. They changed into black Crocs-style shoes, and with Clint’s help, it added a romantic touch of Cinderella-gone-comfy.

Next, we shot some playful photos at a quirky photo spot

The Cop Slide. Before we even talked about what photos they wanted, this was their only request. Honestly, I had no idea what it was until they showed me the viral video, but the photos here turned out to be so much fun!

If you’re not familiar with it, the Cop Slide is a huge playground slide in Boston, known for a comedic video where a cop randomly tumbled down it. I absolutely loved their request because it truly captures their playful nature.

Who says you can’t have fun just because you’re married? These two prove that it’s quite the opposite!

We got some great shots of the newlyweds sliding down, landing on the ground, and even the whole wedding party piled onto the slide together.

What a fun, unique way to celebrate your new marriage, right?

They hopped into a funky pickup car

I was so in love with the feel of this entire celebration and the way it never stopped being fun. Tara and Clint, along with their friends, paraded through the streets, dancing around and even playing a trumpet.

To keep the party going, the couple hopped into the back of a pickup truck decorated with colorful ribbons that made the whole car pop with color.

Everyone cheered for them, and we captured some more shots of the happy couple in the vibrant, ribbon-filled truck. While the newly married couple was having their ride, the rest of the wedding party walked to the next stop.

They ended the day with a cozy bonfire family party

After all the fun of sipping champagne in front of City Hall, wandering the city streets, sliding down the Cop Slide, and just being silly, the good times didn’t stop there. Tara and Clint kept the celebration going at Clint’s family’s house.

The house had a beautiful terrace and a large garden that gave off a bit of wilderness magic.

They set up simple white outdoor chairs, and the whole setup was minimal and laid-back, complete with fun things to play with—like a trampoline!

It felt like a fancy picnic in the woods, celebrating their wedding day. Everyone was dressed casually (yet still with an elevated look), and the entire atmosphere was filled with love and the freedom to just relax and enjoy each other’s company.

And they fully trusted their photographer (me!) to capture it all

Tara and Clint were able to relax and genuinely have fun because they trusted that everything would work out perfectly—including their photos.

I couldn’t be more grateful for their trust because it allowed me to tap into my creativity and create some truly stunning photos and memories for them.

We got a mix of editorial-style and kitschy wedding photos, along with some vintage-inspired, trendy direct flash shots.

While photos weren’t the main focus of their day, they definitely brought the energy for the ones we did take. It was such a memorable experience, not just for them but for me too!

Final thoughts on this Boston City Hall wedding

Tara and Clint were honestly one of the coolest couples I’ve worked with, and being silly with them brought me so much joy. This Boston City Hall elopement was super authentic, fun, and quirky—just like these two.

If you’re thinking of getting married at Boston City Hall, feel free to get inspired by some of the elements from Tara and Clint’s elopement.

Of course, be sure to stick to what feels authentically you and adjust things to your liking. For example, maybe you don’t have a pickup truck, but you could add some funky, colorful ribbons to your car.
